I Am Feeling My Age
The other day my friend said, “I am feeling my age today”. She went on to tell me about her sore back that was flaring from a previous injury, and steps she was taking to feel better. Guess what, she was not 75, nor 95, but 35. How easy it is for us to think of someone who says they are feeling their age to assume they are an older adult rather than a “young middle ager”!
What age are you feeling like today? Age can be perceived as physical, intellectual, or psychological! And yet we focus often on the physical age as a way to understand ourselves and others. How can we focus less on our physical age and the negative stereotypes with higher numbers?
